Sticky and strong

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This tape is great. I use it for packing boxes for shipping as well as storage. The box with my Christmas tree stays closed until the next year when we drag it back out. Great stuff!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The scotch long lasting storage tape is by far a strong product. When you feel the thickness of the tape versus some generic brand you can tell that the scotch will do a far better job in holding whatever you have closed. This tape is supposed to be able to handle extreme weathers, from -25 to 160, not sure when I would ever see those temperatures, but if Scotch claims thats true I believe them. You really should stop buying any other brand of tape and use Scotch brand.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] 3M gave me a free sample of this product to evaluate. I really, really appreciate that the tape cutter is metal rather than plastic. The plastic brake on the dispenser is helpful, but not 100% effective though. And I expected the tape to be a little thicker since it says it's for storage. But as far as stickiness, it holds the boxes shut wonderfully.

Excellent, not thick tape!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall I am impressed by this product, it seals well and sticks to cardboard fine, doesn't loosen up or do anything weird. It's not thick either as most storage tape is, this product is very similar to the Scotch clear mailing tape which is my favorite. I received this as a free sample from 3M.

Better than expected

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free to evaluate. It was pure coincidence I received this at the same time I was helping a friend get ready to move. Since it's winter, I convinced my friend to use this tape and store a few boxes outside to see if it would hold up against the cold like it stated. After a few days in temperatures no higher than 35°, I was shocked to see that the tape was still holding strong, and not peeling off like normal packing tape. It was a week after I first used the tape when my friend moved into their new place. They said the tape on the boxes left outside held the same as those that were stored inside, and they couldn't tell the difference between the two. I'm glad to see a product actually live up to the claims made by its manufacturers.

It was a little difficult to get the roll started because the tape kept splitting, but once I got it going it dispensed easily and cut cleanly. Adheres very well to cardboard. I was not able to test it for long-term storage in weather extremes. It would be nice if the tape were a little bit wider for more bonding surface. Otherwise, it works exactly as packing tape should!
