Get for delicate artwork, and packing with bubble

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I I've been using this tape to send delicate items wrapped in bubble wrap. I use this purple tape to seal the bubble wrap closed, and still allow it to be reused. This tape works fantastic for that use. I have also used it to temporarily affix art to my work board, and I never have to worry about ripping the paper as I take things off. It is much better than normal masking tape It has enough adhesive to stick, yet it allows the release of the items from the board without damage. I would strongly recommend this tape to other artists.

More forgiving than classic blue painters tape

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product as a sample to test and finally found a use when repainting my bathroom ceiling. After initially trying blue tape, which removed paint from the surface I intended to shield, this delicate surface tape did what the classic blue tape wouldn't: leave the protected surface ..protected.
This leaves my only lingering question: why doesn't the classic blue tape mask and leave intact a simple painted wall surface?

Tape removed paint from the bookcase

This tape did not live up to its promise. We specifically chose this to protect the back of the bookcases that we'd painted blue. After weeks of dry time, we taped up the blue edges and painted the trim work white. Days later we went to peel off the purple tape and it removed large areas of the blue, destroying all my hard work!

A must for painting

I love blue paint tape, but sometimes it used to take paint with it. This version of the Scothblue is the answer to my needs, it does not take any paint once I am done (do not wait that much to take out the tape, that is another thing that I learned).

As a new homeowner, I have been doing a lot of painting inside the house and ScotchBlue(TM) Plainter's Tape is my best friend! It always removes cleanly and the edges do not leak. I really like the added printing on the tape itself so that I can pick this one out for delicate/visible jobs. Great Product!

Peeled the paint back off!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I taped off the entire room thinking I would be able to paint with ease but when I pulled the tape off the new paint peeled off with it. I had to go back and fix many spots and it made the process take that much longer. And it definitely doesn't help that I'm 36 weeks pregnant.

2 separate failures in 1 day

We are a residential general contractor. We've used this tape successfully in the past but today with 2 different crews in 2 different cities, we experienced the same tape failure. It pulled off the paint in areas that did not have fresh paint. Is this a bad batch?

Smear paint inside taped area
on June 18, 2013

After spending more than an hour putting on the tape before painting the stripes in my son's bedroom, the result was horrible with paint smearing almost entirely along the edges of the tape. It doesn't seem to have the edge lock function, wonder if I got the substandard/rejected product. What a disappointment, a supposedly interesting project turned out to be a failure, wasted time, energy and money!
