Waste of money, do not buy!!!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this tape to tape off a pattern on my dining room wall, thinking it was the best tape out. I was sadly mistaken, it definitely does not "edge lock". I spent two whole weekends working on this just to habe it look terrible because the tape bled through. I will never buy this product or anything from this company again!!!

Doesn't stick and bleeds

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I taped off my walls to paint ceiling of a complete bath remodel. I finished and turned around and it was all falling off. I pressed hard and tried again, it kept falling off. Went straight to garbage. However it did stick to the tile around shower but when I pulled it off, it had bled through and looks terriable. It has caused me so much extra work. Will return what I have and will never buy again.

Works better than Frog tape
on July 23, 2016

I have used green Frog tape for some time to get crisp clean lines around a room. I prefer to tape everything if I am painting fresh drywall. Considering the time for three coats (one primer, two paint) it saves tons of time over cutting in by hand. (paint/primer in one can is a whole different topic!) I tried the delicate (yellow) Frog tape and it was terrible. Would not stick very well until I had at least the primer on to seal it down. So, I went out and bought 3M Blue tape with orange label. This tape worked awesome for me. It never allowed bleed through. I always make sure I have it down using a putty knife or my pinky finger. Pulls off cleanly and leaves a straight line. Yes sometimes a little of the wall paint did come with it, but that is easy to deal with and expected when sticking tape to it one day after application. I'm not a dummy and expect it to be perfect one day later. If you want no peel off, wait a week for the wall paint to 'cure' more. Paint needs about 30 days to dry completely on a molecular level. Bonus is, this tape is less expensive than the Frog tape! I am sold. Thanks for making a great product. 3M knows adhesives.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a painter. I use TONS of tape and find that 2080L is NOT good on paper of veneer laminates as it is recommended for. USE caution if you use this tape on these kinds of surfaces. Problems is - all the other types act the same way on these surfaces.

Ruined my cabinets

This "delicate surface" tape peeled the finish off my custom cabinetry. It peeled (years old) paint from my trim work. I am not a happy camper.

Will never buy again

I used this taping of baseboards and door trim and had bleed through spots all over. I even had went back over the edges before painting to make sure they were pressed down as hard as possible. I then went a bought the Green competitors tape and applied it the same way and had very minimal bleed through spots. I will never buy this tape again since the other brands are far superior in performance.
