Tough tape without being overly thick

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product free from 3M. After I removed it from the box I tape the box closed with a 2-in piece of the tape. I tried to rip the box open at the tape spot and it was seriously difficult. This tape really held well even though I only used a small piece. I then used it to reinforce an edge of a canvas suitcase. The tape secured well and the cutting edge of the dispenser work perfectly. The tape seems about the right weight or thickness to handle box sealing securely without being too thin or too bulky.

Great packing tape!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received this product to review. I had a box where the bottom flaps didn't quite meet and the original tape was coming off. I took the old tape off and replaced it with this tape. It was super easy to use and stuck like nobody's business! It's very tough and seems like it'll last forever!

Great packing tape

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I used this to tape up boxes of non perishable foods that I sent to an orphanage that I sponsor in Ukraine. I've had problems with tape coming apart in the past but this made it safely. The tape is thick and sticks very nicely to the corrugated cardboard boxes and the cutter made nice straight edges without a lot of waste AND held on to the end of the tape so I didn't have to keep finding the end.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Even though this tape is thinner than the shipping tape, it seems very sturdy. I taped a box and it stuck well, seemed very secure. It did seem to want to stick together easily though when pulling it off the roll.

Make moving easier...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received Scotch Moving Packaging Tape for free in return for my honest opinion. Truthfully, I did not expect it to be any different than other tape on a roll, but I was proved wrong. This is what I found to be different about it. Finding the beginning of the roll was easy. The tape pulls off the roll so smoothly that I did not have to wrestle with the dispenser to adhere the tape to the box. The metal cutting edge easily tears the tape exactly where needed. Scotch Moving Packaging Tape is thicker than previous tapes I have used before and the adhesive has great sticking power. To test the toughness of it, I taped the box and then held my breath while I turned it upside down and shook it. One wrap did the job. I did not feel the need to wrap and rewrap the box. That is definitely a time saver. I really like the dispenser as I feel it has a great design feature that keeps the cut edge from attaching itself to the back to the roll when cutting. I find it so frustrating when I have to waste time trying to find the end of a roll of tape because it attached itself to the tape roll when I made a cut. The Scotch Moving and Packaging Tape dispenser is lightweight and easy to use. All of those reasons provide you with the ability to quickly tape the box and move on to the next one. I would recommend buying Scotch Moving and Packaging Tape because the lighweight dispenser allows you do it yourself quickly, the sticking power secures the box with one swipe which saves time and saves money by not needing multiple wraps. Should you run out of tape, the dispenser is refillable.

Excellent Tape

Excellent tape for moving or shipping!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I first received the tape it looked like every other role of moving or shipping tape but the second I put it on the first box I noticed the huge difference! This tape is thicker and holds WAY better than regular shipping tape! As I’ve moved a lot I started holding onto boxes to reuse but discovered I had a hard time keeping them taped shut as the cardboard had some dust/grime from prior moves but, this tape actually sticks to those old boxes and hasn’t peeled up at all! Highly highly recommend getting this tape if you are packing moving boxes or looking for a really reliable tape for shipping! I received this tape for free in exchange for my honest review but I actually am now buying a couple more rolls for my upcoming move. Two thumbs up from this frequent packer/mover!

Strong tape with an easy glide dispenser.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I packed my grandmother’s delicate fine china dishes in a box to move them but I was afraid that something would happen to them. They mean a lot to me and I have very fond memories of them as a child. I couldn’t just use any packaging tape to seal my grandmother’s fine china. After reading that the Scotch moving packaging tape would hold 80 pounds I felt better and packed everything up. The bonus is you can pretty much use the dispenser one handed.
I do have some tips when using the packaging tape. I usually pull some of the tape out of the dispenser then put it on the box. I was wasting tape that way. When you first get the tape, put the tape over the two triangles on the dispenser. Near the blade that cuts the tape, there are raised lines on the side of the dispenser and that is where you put your fingers to hold the dispenser. You then can effortlessly pull back and the tape will glide on the box. If you hold the dispenser tight, it won’t glide like it’s supposed to. I included a picture of the two triangles on the dispenser and where to put the tape. Also, a video to show you where to hold it.
