Strong, Reliable Tape from Scotch

It also sticks well to other materials as I've used this tape to stick things to walls, floors, patio furniture. Overall, this product is exactly what you'd expect from this brand.

Great tape that holds for years

This tape holds fast for years and years. It's the only kind I use now because you never know how long something you tape may sit in storage. It is way strong enough to use for mailing packages, despite the claims of some shipping tapes being 20x stronger.
I've seen some tape that seems to dry out after a few years, loosing all adhesion and becoming completely unstuck. Yes, some tapes are very strong initially, but over time, this Storage tape keeps working.
Many people have noted that this tape does not stick to boxes very well. Apparently some cardboard is manufactured with something that causes this to happen. Personally, I usually use U-Haul boxes and this tape sticks well to them. It seems that 3M has finally solved the problem of tape sticking to cardboard boxes and created a new Box Tape. So try that if you're having problems with tape sticking to a box.

So DONE with Scotch Storage Tape

I give up. I'm throwing away the most recent roll of packaging tape from Scotch. It shreds when you try to peel it off the roll. Takes me 10 minutes to get it to a solid piece and then it shreds again. There must be a better brand. So unhappy.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Poor Performance

I bought this tape to box p all my worldly possessions for a move to another city, some things were going into storage. What a pain! The tape kept shredding trying to get it of the roll and on to the boxes. I had to keep picking at the roll to get a complete width of tape. so frustrating when you are already stressed .

The HEAVY DUTY worked great!

I packed up my entire house with used cardboard boxes and everything was packed for 3-4 years in PODS (didn't know the new house would take so long), using the Scotch Shipping Packaging Tape HEAVY DUTY and everything was still sealed up,
