Perfect for the average home

Inexpensive, fast, simple to install and configure; what more could one ask of a modem/router?
This is the second Netgear modem/router I've owned and each has been an ideal system for it's time. Today, in a 1500 sf 2-story home, this modem is faster and handles all of my wi-fi needs at a very fast rate.

Small powerhouse

Netgear AC1600 is budget-friendly modem router. Do not get confused about reasonable price – this is excellent modem and powerful router that easily covers over 1500sf with very stable signal. The setup is straightforward, unless you want to assign a unique name and password, as ot may become a bit involved. Overall, would I buy it again? YES!

My Second Netgear

I bought this because I've had another Netgear modem router for eight years, and it still works well. I gave it to my mom when she signed up for Comcast internet and got this one for myself. The only problem I've had was when Comcast upgraded, and my router no longer showed on my list of available networks. I rebooted it, but that didn't work. Comcast couldn't help, and Netgear wouldn't because I bought it more than 30 days ago. However, a very nice rep sent me a link to a few troubleshooting pages that I hadn't been able to find on their website. Turns out it just needed a factory reset (tiny recessed button on the back). Very grateful to that rep for not charging me the $$$ that she would have had to if she had told me the solution verbally. Hoping this one lasts as long as my first.

Works well

When I was renting my equipment from WoW, my devices never received anywhere near the speeds that my phone would test when connected to the wifi. Since switching to this modem/router, my numbers have been much more reliable and consistent across devices

NETGEAR is easy to install and I love that you can manage each device’s access to Wi-Fi. The only thing is I hope I can name each device too.
