Download speed issues

I haven't been able to get great metrics in the download speed , ping, or signal strength. Overall this router hasn't lived up to my expectations, but I do think I would upgrade to a higher tier netgear router to take further advantage of the Comcast gigabit speed.

Just what I needed.

I had been paying monthly to rent a cable modem from my ISP. A friend recommend I buy my own and save money in the long run. I searched and decided on the Netgear AC1600. It works perfectly out of the box. It was much easier than expected to set up and it actually gives me better speeds than the one I was renting. I wish I had purchased it sooner.

I didn’t want to pay to rent a modem from Xfinity. This was reasonably priced and does the job. The app features are helpful.

Fast, Easy, Connection

I set up my NETGEAR AC1600 Cable Modem Router to replace my Xfinity rental router. I am not a “TechGeek”, and it only required a single cable and power cord swap out. Then a simple call to my internet provider and I was back online. From there it was easy to get my WiFi Thermostat and WiFi sprinkler system connected. I would highly recommend the NETGEAR AC1600 Cable Modem Router without hesitation. Oh, did I mention it will pay for itself in less than a year and then I’m putting money in my pocket every month after that! Don’t hesitate, every month you delay it costs you money.

Many years later, even with Xfinity offering faster speeds, my modem still works great. Xfinity keeeps trying to get me to upgrade, but I am quite happy with my Netgear.
