Adequate but underperforming after two years

I bought my netgear router three years ago, and for about two years it worked well. However, in the last year its started to fail, and now it automatically keeps toggling between and off the two channels (2ghz and 5ghz) resulting in internet dropping randomly at least 5 times a day. As I am beyond the support period, I have no way of fixing it.

I was told at the time of purchase at cape cod that it would definitely replace the xfinity router which has an outlet for a land line. Would like to get the proper one

Weak 2.4G signal

The 5G side of the router works great but the 2.4G barely reaches outside the room the C6250 is in.
