I don’t know why I didn’t get it soon! Our internet connection was iffy to say the lest with our old router modem. Since we’ve upgraded it works seamlessly. Definitely worth upgrading.

Easy set up and consistent connectivity

Easy to set up and reliable WiFi that was easy to use with my cable provider network. I did have to buy an extender so that I could download software updates to my electric car, which was about 100 ft from the unit so range could be better. But using the app to set up both made it relatively painless.

Excellent Modem/Router, been using it for 2 years. No problems, wired performance is Excellent, wifi signal is ok. For the price its a must buy if you are looking to upgrade to super fast speeds around 600-700 mbps (wired)

Just ok

It worked well for less than a year and then started having terrible signal strength and random drops. The 5Ghz signal was particularly degraded by the time I got rid of it. No amount of reboots, resets, settings changes, or firmware updates solved it. Best for a small house or small apartment.

Reliable most of the time

After replacing this router with one from xFinity, I did notice that it makes a big difference if you are connected to the 2.4 version vs 5. It wasn’t like that with our previous router.
Response from netgear.comBy Consumer Affairs, March 13, 2021
Hi J Mendoza,
The primary differences between the two frequencies are the range (coverage) and bandwidth (speed) that the bands provide. The 2.4 GHz band provides coverage at a longer range but transmits data at slower speeds. The 5 GHz band provides less coverage but transmits data at faster speeds.
The range is lower in the 5 GHz band because higher frequencies cannot penetrate solid objects, such as walls and floors. However, higher frequencies allow data to be transmitted faster than lower frequencies, so the 5 GHz band allows you to upload and download files faster.
Thank you
