Great but I would not have been able to connect to the wireless without reading the online reviews. The USB cable is not necessary. Just run the software and do the setup on the front screen as a previous reviewer said.
So far, I like everything else about it.

Great out of the box

I just set this up and have only printed about a dozen or so documents. I had it unpacked and set up to print wireless in about 25 minutes; and yes that included pulling all the blue stickers off of the product. I have not had to print any big jobs as it has only sat in my office for about 35 minutes, but what it has printed has been very nice. Epson Printers still deliver some of the best print quality on the market. I have been unhappy with them in the past because of the print capacity per ink cartridge, but this printer is supposed to have a high capacity ink. If that is true, I am going to love this printer. If it doesn't I will come back on here and let you know. So if you don't hear from me in about three weeks, you can rest assured I was satisfied. Hoping for Great things.

I've had this printer for 2 days, so admittedly (now that I have it working on the network) I probably need more time with it to be the most accurate about the features, so I'll stick to the WIRELESS installation (using ethernet cable or USB is probably a breeze, but I bought this to be WIRELESS). In one word: horrible. I am a technically advanced guy, actually have worked in the IT industry for 15 years. Installation of this beast made me feel like a newbie. Doesn't work on WEP-64bit encrypted networks (can't speak for WPA-2, etc). Found this out after 4 hours of trying the same steps over and over (I finally told the Epson support guy that this was the definition of insanity). I removed the router's encryption and finally got it working - what a shock - right away. Set it up using the Epson software on 3 machines: one Win 7, one Vista, one XP. Vista and Win 7 machines, no problem. XP: disaster. Essentially, XP doesn't like the EpsonNet port configuring tool, and after another 3 hours figured out that if you use the Windows port configuring wizard, it will work and the computer will recognize the printer.
The problem I have with all this is Epson should have figued this out by now and posted about these issues. Oh and by the way: my wife was stoked that she could use the iPad wireless printing feature from her iPad - no such luck. Only the iPrint app from Epson works (well, actually) but that only allows PHOTO printing, not recipies, docs, etc.
The design is nice, looks sleek in my office, blah blah blah. I just need to count on the thing working. It does now, after a blown Saturday. So I am going with 3 outta 5, because the status software is clean and informative and, most importantly, it does print well! If you've got Win7 or Vista, rock on. XP - use something else.

We are disappointed there is not easy way to print a single envelope. All previous printers we have had had a slot where one could insert one envelope to go with the letter just printed.
Also we can't figure out if there is an easy way to use 8 1/2 by 14 inch paper.

WorkForce 633

Owned a WorkForce 600 and black print nozzles clogged. Generally pleased with its operation but gave it a thumbs down for ink cartridge costs and paper feed. Inkjet printers are not worth repairing, so I purchased the WorkForce 633 as a replacement. Easy setup. Pleased to see it now has a paper tray. Much to my surprise, Epson modified the ink cartridges just so slightly so the WF 600 cartridges are not compatible with the WF 633. Figures. The real profit is in selling consumables, not the printer.

Setup issues with Win7, but great printer

Seems to be a great printer so far. I have Windows 7 64-bit and there seems to be some compatibility issues with the install from the disc, but once I downloaded the drivers from here: http://www.epson.com/support , the issues were resolved. Its kind of loud when it prints, but the speed more than makes up for it. I am also printing via WiFi. Hope this helps some of you and saves you a little time. Don't give up on it too soon.
