It has taken me over 4 hours to try and link the printer to my laptop which is brand new as well. I am downloading the new software from your link, and then using the disc I guess if it asks me to. Very slow process, and I hope it works.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the best printer I have had over the last 25 years. Bought this because the old one (different brand) just died after 7 years of service.
It was a doddle to set up including wireless (don't know how a couple of people writing reviews on the machine could get it wrong!). My previous wireless experience was using a wireless print server, and failed miserably on double-sided printing with Vista.
Once one laptop was set up (took all of 30 mins), I set up the printer - I was amazed that it picked up the wap passphrase from the USB linkup to the laptop (required for initial network setup for the printer). Setting up the remaining laptops was a breeze. I have a mix of XP and Vista machines, and printing double-sided and scanning all over wireless, was a joy - the previous machine could not scan over the wireless print server. The rest of the family are very happy.
Downside: no CD-printing facility (which I require sporadically to issue new updates to clients - resolved by changing over to Lightscribe discs), no spare tray to hold photo paper - even a manual-feed facilty would have sufficed for the occasional different sheet.
Lets see what the running costs will be in a few months ...

i have this 4in1 for about a month wanted to have wireless printing and to lose all the other difference machines(fax,scanner ect) to declutter. this is everthing that i wanted. i would recommend it to a friend.

Easy Setup

Just bought the WorkForce 633 and setup took about 15 minutes, and that was only because of the software installing on my slow laptop. EASY WIRELESS migration into my home network! I loved the step-by-step quick setup guide and the option to setup if you didn't have a (or didn't know where your) USB cable [was]. I used the screen prompts on the front of the machine and was printing test pages in minutes!

So Far it's WONDERFUL! I am not a computer techie & this was so quick & easy to install. Printing/copying is great & not noisy. Haven't hooked up/used the fax yet though. Looked @ the all in ones for about a year & decided this was the best way to go because of the options, name, sale price & seperate ink... I am very happy & definitely will recommend this unit. Thank you!
