I got this washer as part of my contract when my husband and I purchased our first house. We have been using it since January of this year (2014). I haven't had any issues with it thus far. I love the different features that it uses to conserve energy and water. The dryer is just as effective, as it dries my clothes well. Not sure the cost of these machines because they were included with the purchase, but I am currently enjoying them.
I would recommend this to a friend!

GE Worst Washer- do not buy

I bought it 3 months ago, and had 4 techs out, you can not wash sheets in this washer, they get twisted and the washer goes off balance and makes large noises. This is washer needs to be taken off the market!!!!

The GE - GTWN4950LWS is possibly the most ineffective washing machine ever designed. No matter how small the load, or how loosely it is packed my clothes are never completely cleaned. There are visible spots left on the fabric where the water has not thoroughly saturated, or not completely rinsed. I purchased this Energy Efficient machine hoping to save on water and energy, however my energy use has increased due to the need to wash items 2 or more times. I am aware that HE machines use less water, however I have used other similar HE washing machines with excellent results. This unfortunately is a horrible machine!

DOES NOT CLEAN CLOTHES, IT ACTUALLY LEAVES DIRT AND LINT ON THEM
ALL WRINKLED AND WHY THE MOLD SMELL IS DUE TO WATER BEING UNDERNEATH BASKET WHICH NEVER PUMPS OUT

There never seems to be enough water to properly clean a normal size load. Clean sometimes need a second wash. Glad is no longer being made. I would ask for my money back if I knew I would get it back.

Fits in laundry room space-but doesn't clean

Bought in November 2011, to replace a front load washer. Not enough water to cover my clothes/towels/dog beds/sheets/blankets. Can only put a few items in at a time. Top of items will still be dry at times when it stops and still dirty. Towels are smelly unless I wash them twice. I now pour a bucket of water in tub when washing dog beds so water goes over the beds. Fabric softener leaks out of dispenser in agitator all over clothes at times and stains them.

what a piece of garbage this machine is, clothes constantly come out completely covered in lint, need to be washed multiple times and even that doesn't always get the clothes clean.
