Excellent suction and ease of use. The manueverability of the vaccum is fabulous.. I was flabergasted by the amount of dirt, dust and pet hair in my house that this vacuum picked up when I emptied the dust cup that I thought my old vaccum was getting. Just unbelievable . I will say to be careful of area rugs because the suction is intense so just raise the level to the highest one and you will sail over those rugs. Love the long power cord too.. The pet care brush, and other attachments are terrific. Love that under appliance brush as well.. I could finally get under and around the back of my fridge, and again, just amazed at how much dirt and pet hair it sucked up that you just didn't think was there.. I love this vaccuum and can't sing it's praises enough.

I needed a new vacuum desperately, and heard great things about this vacuum so figured I’d try it out myself and I must say, I’m impressed!
10/10 recommend! My home smells cleaner, I have less allergy symptoms, and my floors look better than ever!
The suction on this baby is comparable to a Kirby. After a few months of living in my new house using an old vacuum with two dogs, you can imagine my carpets just were not truly clean. Not to mention, new construction carpets need a good vacuum to get all the dust out of them - especially in West Texas!
First use I went over each space twice and each room had a FULL canister of hair and dust and whatever else carpets catch. I could even see the deodorizing powder I used to lay down prior to vacuuming with my old vacuum. A week later, I did the same thing and it was definitely cleaner but with two dogs the canister filled up fairly quickly. I would dump it after every two rooms!

I love all the different attachments so cleaning under my appliances and my baseboards is a breeze. Also love the odor neutralizer feature - after vacuuming my house smells so fresh and no longer smells like dogs! Huge win since my dogs play in the backyard as they please and come in whenever they want. Plus I no longer have to lay down a carpet deodorizer (though I could if I wanted).
Let’s talk about hard surfaces…I have laminate and prefer to vacuum and then sweep as necessary before mopping. The last two weeks I’ve cleaned my floors I didn’t have to sweep before mopping! It literally picks it all up and there is not a bunch of hair and grass being blown in all directions like my old vacuum. Cuts my workload in half!!
I love that you can take the canister off of the vacuum and make it a lightweight, portable vacuum for the higher spaces like furniture and vents (the duster attachment and this vacuum combined is incredible on dusty vents!). My only complaint is there are moments where I wish the hose was a bit longer, but if I use a step stool then I can typically get everything from the top of my ceilings to the floor clean!
I would definitely compare this to a Kirby - the suction is impeccable like a Kirby but the Stratos weighs a lot less and is easy to maneuver. It’s slim vacuum head fits quite well under most of my furniture allowing me to clean better under my couches and beds. A huge variety of attachments that can be used for anything from your home to your car!

I have a roomba I run during the week and would vacuum with a Bissell pet vacuum on the weekends. I thought it did a good job until I used a pet hair comb on my area rug. I immediately started researching new vacuums. I purchased the Shark and I am amazed how much dust and hair came out of my rugs. I have two labs that shed like crazy this vacuum is a must for pet owners! It also came with an under appliance attachment I use under my couch. Worth every penny.

Shark stratos v shark apex duo clean

I finally received my vacuum shark stratos today. I put it to the test of my other shark apex vacuum.
First: as others have stated it is larger in size. It is larger than the apex duo clean that I have.
Second: it is louder than my other vacuum the duo clean apex. A lot louder.
Third: it does not have the pull of the duo clean, I believe that’s from it having fins instead of brushes. It does have small ones behind the fins. Because of that I didn’t feel it was picking up as well as the other. I do have to say I purchased the stratos so I wouldn’t have to pull hair out of the brush roller. I will have to see on the stratos if that is true. My hair and my cats were always jamming up the roller.
Forth: the suction does seem stronger but not by much.
Fifth: the dust cup is much bigger on the stratos, but the apex duo holds more. I do like the dumping of the stratos, much better than the apex duo clean.
Sixth: I do not like the on and off button on the stratos, yes it’s in a convenient place, but a pain to turn on and off. Needed a better angle.
Seven: as others have said, yes the hose is very short compared to the apex duo clean. A pain to use.
Overall I’ll have to see for better judgment. Since I’ve only had it one day.
