Powerful cleaning

Purchased a few weeks ago after returning a Dyson. The Shark is far and above in suction power, versatility, accessories, and price. Have only had for a sort while, but am very impressed. Love a clean house!

Cheaply made vacuum

I've bought two of these vacuums now, because I like the hard-wood roller, and lift away option, however, first vacuum lasted only about a year before the roller stopped working and it stopped picking up anything larger than dust, then the button to hold the handle in place broke off like the cheap piece of plastic I found it to be. Bought a second one, thinking I may have caused the wear and tear on the first one (even though I only had it a year), and the second one bought was even worse! Didn't even last 4 months before completely falling apart like the first one. The hard wood roller literally broke within the first month of purchase. Expensive vacuums made very cheap and poorly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Watch the Power Cord, Damages Instantly!

Shark leaves your a "Little Notice" on the Power Cord to do not run over it. Well that means not even in least. Power Cord is very cheaply made and short too. Do not run over the Power Cord in anyway shape fashion or form or by accident for machine will instantly damage it. Only had machine for 2 days and accidentally ran over cord and machine tore it up.
I've had a Dyson Anaimal for 20 years and never had to worry about running if I ran over the cord.
Also be prepared to do a LOT of maintenance on the vacuum with filters having to be cleaned every 30 days and Dust Cup must be thoroughly cleaned after each dumping or will affect performance.
Also my Dyson Animal only had two settings: Carpet or Hard Floor. On the Shark you're constantly guessing what the appropriate setting should be based Carpet Types.
True the unit does have lots of suction and has many attachments which do come in handy, however, when you detach the "Lift Away" Canister it's heavier than expected.
I'll keep my Dyson Animal for Day-to-Day Sweeping due to longer cord, no worries about running over the cord, and Less Manitnenace and use the Shark Stratos occasionally.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Though this vacuum has great suction it is unbelievably heavy and difficult to move around. It’s actually a chore and unpleasant experience to use this. This is our first Shark vacuum and will probably be our last. We have only had it a year and we are so unhappy with it that we purchased a different, very high end brand, in a canister style that we love. This upright but Shark is a huge disappointment. What were they thinking when they designed this!!!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
