Don't buy this. Cheap and flimsy

I've only had this vacuum since September and already the powered vacuum head is loosing powered. It goes in and out and when running the power is inconsistent at best. I should have known when it came out of the box how cheaply this thing is made it would have issues. It's very flimsy but I did jot expect it to cut out only 6 months later!!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We have had the Shark Stratos over a year now. At first I was thrilled with it because of the powerful suction. Then I realized that it has some drawbacks. I vacuum in the dark because you can see so much more with the great light it has, problem is the moment you remove the handle from its normal position the light goes off. Also when removing the handle you need to hold the vacuum with your free hand otherwise it falls over into your walls or wherever. The hose barely stretches. The suction is great but does not pickup hair or for that matter much of anything else unless you vacuum at the pace of a turtle and no faster and then it still may not get all the sock fuzzies unless you go over them a bunch of times. As for picking up hair its great on hard wood or tile floors. Carpet its pretty much the same as the sock fuzzies. The wands are pretty much worthless unless you have someone who hold and pickup the vacuum. Forget about doing the top part of your ceiling fan unless you have help and someone strong enough to hold the vacuum up as high as possible depending on how high your ceiling fans are. Other than that it's great.

Quality vacuum, multi-functional

I take off a star b/c it is difficult to detach full wand. Upper detachment works great and this has exceptional power if you are a pet owner. Swivels well around furniture. It isn't quiet but typical vacuum volume I'd say.

Owed many shark products for my cabin, shop, and home. This vacuum is the worst of any items I’ve ordered. The suction is good but Shark didn’t bother to think about the end user. To replace the dust bin is crazy difficult and why not just use the same features on previous models that function perfectly? The rubber parts are all cheap and after owning this machine for a year I’ve replaced nearly all the rubber bits and seals. Then the most annoying part is the lack of led lights on the wand. Really, at this price point to step down features that are in previous models is ridiculous. The hepa filter blows dust straight out of the front of the machine. Clearly it was never tested.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Disappointed!

I bought this one because I’ve had the Duo Clean Lift away shark before and thought it was time for upgrade. I loved it and used it for about 5 years. I hate how this one when you take the handle off the top it doesn’t have the light. The bottom piece that previously came off on the other models to easy clean doesn’t come off. I’m just really disappointed that they’ve gone so down hill! I needed the ultimate vacuum for 2 dogs. Well I think the dog hair has froze up the reel "power fins" and since you can’t take the top off like my other shark it just becomes more built up! This one is definitely not an upgrade!! Very very disappointing!

Miserable to use

The suction is great, but it is so heavy and difficult to maneuver that it is a real struggle to use. It was rated #1 in Consumer Reports in the bagless upright category, but I hate using it.
