Excellent sweeper

Just got my Stratos. Easy to put together and cleans well! The only issue that I have is that when you remove the wand, the light does not shine like my last one. For that - one star removed.. I could see what I was sweeping. That was an excellent feature! Needs to put the light back on the wand.

Fantastic Vacuum

The new Shark Stratos is a big improvement over the 14 year old vacuum it replaced. It is significantly more powerful, holds more so I don’t have to empty it as often, the DuoClean PowerFiins really clean deep into carpets/rugs and the odor neutralizer keeps it smelling fresh. Does a fantastic job on tile floors, rugs and carpets.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We’ve only had this vacuum for 3 weeks but so far it has been great.
Pros:’
- quieter than our old Oreck
- bagless
- extremely versatile
- great suction and threads/hairs do not get stuck in the roller!

- worry about long term wear since it’s virtually all plastic
- heavy to push, although if you hold the canister unit in one hand and vacuum with the other it’s a breeze

Smells of Plastic

This vacuum was a replacement for one that was destroyed by running over a metal rod while vacuuming under a bed. The main brush - roller was destroyed. The main brush - roller could not be replaced so they sent me a new vacuum. Luckily it was covered under the 5 year VIP warranty.
The replacement vacuum has a terrible odor of plastic when running. Not pleasant to operate.

Works great at first

I bought this vacuum 9 months ago. We have a golden retriever, a Labrador retriever and my wife has long hair. It worked great for about 4 months when the performance began to decline quite a bit. I disassembled the powerhead and cleaned out the trapped dirt and hair. The performance improved for a few months and is now suffering again. The powerhead is again full of trapped dirt and hair and the Hair Pro brushroll is worn out. This machine and powerhead are far from self-cleaning, require too much maintenance to keep the performance up, and the Hair Pro brushroll wears out way too quickly. The only replacement is a new powerhead assembly-not cheap-that will last only 8 to 9 months under normal use.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I originally purchased the vacuum 2 years ago. We absolutely love this vacuum. Incredible vacuuming power, we have a Bernese Mountain Dog . We just purchased another one for our other residence. Although I would like owning the new Shark Powerdetect Vacuum someday.
