This is a great machine overall. If I only wanted to have one vacuum for the whole house - this would be it. The suction is noticeably better than previous models (I've had several flagship upright and powered/battery stick Sharks over the last 8 years). The only downside is I really don't need or want this scent canister. I understand the purpose, but its just not necessary. The lift away is a must have to get underneath beds and other places a standard upright machine won't reach - while keeping suction and powered motorhead (Powered lift-away). The only reason I will reach to my DBA3 is once a month or so when I really need deeper carpet suction, otherwise, this Stratos is superior for hard floors and any other variety of situations around our multi-level home with different floor types throughout.

Let me point out, I love to read ratings and reviews on products but rarely do I ever give my own. I have given this vacuum a couple of weeks of use and i am happy to say it’s as good as I hoped! My previous vacuum broke beyond repair and I could tell it wasn’t picking up the way it used to. I have a dog and a cat, mind you I keep my house very clean and I only have carpet in three of my bedrooms and one large rug. I bought two of these vacuums (one for a second home) with very high hopes. I unboxed it the minute I got it, which took maybe 10 minutes to assemble, and started vacuuming. I COULD NOT BELIEVE the dust and fur this vacuum was pulling from my carpets! It’s like I hadn’t vacuumed in months! I was thrilled and disgusted at the same time! The accessories on this vacuum and the way it all functions is 10/10 for me. My last vacuum didn’t have attached accessories so this is a game changer. The detachable canister to do stairs with is awesome! This vacuum glides nicely on hard wood, sucks nicely and all the functions make sense. The only two slightly negative things are that it is on the heavy side, and it does put out some heat with lengthened vacuuming time. Overall I would buy this product again. I hope it lasts and lives up to the Shark reputation, but I would definitely recommend this.

I just received my new vacuum Friday and I love it! I have primarily dark hard wood floors, 2 white French bulldogs, and a 3 year old boy. My floors can get dirty very quickly and the vacuum ran very smooth across my floors and picked up all the dog hair, dirt, and grass. I was extremely impressed. The plastic seems to very durable. I’m so excited to see what else I can clean with it! Should have bought it sooner!

I am a senior citizen with 2 shedding dogs. I hated to have to vacuum every day because it was so difficult lugging around my heavy Dyson. I saw the commercial for the Shark and it looked like it would be great on dog hair, dusting and the best part was that I could detach the vacuum to do the stairs, which I couldn't do before. Also it came with a free steam mop. The Shark steam mop I had needed to be replaced because it was old and had a crack because I had dropped it. I can honestly say that the Shark is so great with the dog hair and dust, it has such suction power that you can see the clumps of dog hair actually being drawn to the vacuum! It is also light and easy to handle and maneuver. I absolutely love it and I would highly reccommend that you purchase both the vacuum and the steam mop. Your house will sparkle!! I never thought I'd say this but I LOVE TO VACUUM!!
