I have owned multiple shark vacuums and this so far is the best. They have always had great suction, but this also has a rubber strip on the roller which picks up hair better than anything else I have seen. Hopefully the unit holds up, as it seems I always have issues with the vacuum head after about 3 years. This one I did pay for the lifetime warranty, so no worries.

I had a shark vacuum for the past 10 years or so. The previous one was finally starting to give up. I really like this one. My floors and carpet feel cleaner. I love not having to give the machine a “haircut” (cutting all of the hair out of the rollers) like I did with the previous model. It is a bit big and clumsy to maneuver, but you get used to it. I love the odor neutralizer. I have a long haired dog and her hair and dander made the other vacuum stink. It is a bit pricey, but overall, I am very happy with it. I also have to add that customer service is outstanding.

Happy I bought this EXCEPT…. The cord! A piece of it is allready chewed up encaustic it got caught underneath the vacuum while I was vacuuming. There is now an exposed wire that is making me very nervous. It seems that the cord should have a better design that will keep it off of the floor

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was offered the shark stratos upright vacuum in exchange for my honest opinion. I am very impressed the vacuum is light weight, easy to use and incredibly effective. I have stairs this vacuum is perfect for vacuum the stairs it is easy to pull the canister off to vacuum the stairs with ease. The best part is it’s easy enough that my kids can use it also. I especially like that the brush is made so that is picks up more on hardwood floors and then I can remove the canister and walk around getting the baseboards, drapes, and couch without having to get out another machine. Strongly suggest this vacuum will cut down on the extras needed to do one job, it is also convenient enough I have used it for a car vacuum also.

I bought this a few years ago after my 25+ year old Oreck vacuum finally bit the dust. It worked fairly well (though not as good as my Oreck) but I recently realized it was not picking things up as well. When I cleaned off the roller, I noticed the bristles were completely worn down. You cannot just simply replace the roller brush! They want you to replace the entire bottom case! And they make it so even if you purchase the specialized tools (they have sneaky screws) and the roller brush from another machine, you still can’t get to it. Will be going back to Oreck and never again buying a shark.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
