I had a Honeywell T5 before this Nest. Horrible wifi connection!!! Couldn't wait to replace it. So happy with the Nest. Easy install, easy connection and easy to adjust. All better now!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Google Nest thermostat

Installation was not too difficult. I needed the trim kit.Programming thru your phone was OK. Main problem was I could not find a way too shut the fan off when there was no call for heat (forced air system). The fan ran constantly creating draftiness which we did not like. This would be fine in summer months when you are using the air conditioning, but in northeast winter you do not want a "drafty" house. I took the thermostat down and put the old one back up.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Awesome Thermostat

Love the look and it definitely saves energy. My house is always comfortable and don’t hear my system turning on every couple mins like when I had the older thermostat.

Works but a few issues

Overall Google Home app is TERRIBLE with Nest thermostat. 1) During Setup in Google Home app, the default country/language is China, however touch didn't work when trying to select US/English. Finally I used my OTG cable to connect an external mouse to change country/language. Don't think normal users have OTG cable at home2) Wake display doesn't work, I asked to change the product, but replacement still doesn't support Wake display function. So you have to touch the device to turn on display every time, this is the major issue you should consider if you plan to pick up this model.3) When I got the replacement, it was a disaster to setup the device in Google Home app, it never asked Wifi setting but just failed to setup wifi connection. Tried to clear Wifi setting in the app and factory reset the thermostat and re-install the app, didn't help. Finally I setup the device on different smart phone without any issue.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I cannot figure out how to hold a temperature and just adjust it a degree or two when needed. Even my hub will only allow for a 24 hour hold. Very annoying to everyone is household.

We suggest you can try clearing and editing your schedule based on your preference:
To check your existing schedule:
- Go to Google Home App > Settings > Schedules > Clear schedule.

Create your temperature presets:
- Go to temperature preference> Temperature presets > Create custom temperature.

Create a new schedule:
- Settings > Schedules > Add > Select temperature preset > select start time > Add to event > done.

Note: Clearing your schedule will keep your set temperature, and you can adjust it if needed.

I absolutely love being able to use Alexa to change the temp, and using the google home app to change the settings while I am away from home.
