Amazing Thermostat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nest Thermostat is an amazing thermostat! Installation was simple. The base plate has a built-in level bubble, which is super handy. I had my old thermostat off, and the Nest Thermostat installed in under 30 minutes. Set-up was simple. Once you download the app, it will walk you through the steps and verify correct installation. The thermostat has a mirrored display, which wakes up when you walk by. Controlling the thermostat is easy. You can set-up custom schedules within the app. It has a built-in sensor that knows when you’re not home and adjusts the temperature for energy savings. You can also get alerts if the thermostat detects an issue with your system. And reminders to change your air filter. This is an excellent thermostat for any home! Highly recommend!

App not working properly
on May 27, 2021
Posted by: ZMon
This new nest depends on the app for essentially all the features. so it is really useless that the app is not properly communicating with my thermostats. I tried multiple troubleshooting options, including restart, uninstalling device, uninstalling app, reset to factory settings etc... an hour of chat with support didn't get me anywhere. The thermostat communicated with the app (i.e. I see temp changes made on thermostat and data of when my HVAC was on etc.) but the app does not communicate back to the thermostat (i.e. I cannot change temp from app, change wake settings, set eco/ comfort/ sleep routines, or set a schedule!)

Good but the old Nest seemed better

This thermostat doesn't seem to learn as quickly as the old one I had. I bought the new one because my old one would not control my A/C. This one is good, but it doesn't seem to want to turn my heat down to 55 at night unless I manually turn it down. Still it has more features than the old one, so I'm hopeful that it will eventually figure me out.

Impressive Technology!

I have older versions of the Nest Thermostat so I’m well aware of what it does. These newer versions are sleek, easy to install and still fun to use.

It does not work with the Google home app. It always says offline even when Wi-Fi is connected.

Hi there, thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your Nest Thermostat keeps showing offline,
Here’s are some troubleshooting steps we can recommend if your Nest thermostat is offline:
- Check if your internet connection is with another device. - Make sure that you have the latest version of the Nest app. - Restarting your thermostat will refresh your connection. You can restart it by going to Settings > Reset > Restart. - If your thermostat’s battery level is low, it will disconnect from Wi-Fi. This is to conserve power so it can continue controlling your system. To check your battery level, press the thermostat ring to bring up the Quick View menu Settings > Technical Info > Power. Look for the number labeled Battery. If the battery level is 3.8V or higher, your thermostat is not disconnected because of a low battery. If the battery charge is below 3.6V, there might be a power issue. - Unplug your Modem/Router for 30 seconds, then plug it back in. - Checking for sources of Wi-Fi interference.
Here are some devices that might cause problems: - Cordless phones - Baby monitors - Microwaves - Bluetooth devices - Wireless video equipment
If the issue persists, we’d like to take a closer look at your device. Feel free to contact our support team here: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

I don’t know why I waited so long to purchase a nest thermostat. But I’m extremely glad I now have one installed, actually two installed, in my home. Installation was simple. And I especially enjoy the opportunity to monitor use, and to adjust temperature from any location.
