Easy to install and awesome thermostat

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The instructions are easy to follow. I was able to follow the instruction and get the thermostat installed fast. I have both the Nest and the Google home apps on my phone. I use the Nest app to adjust the temperature and set up a weekly schedule. It's slick-looking!

Nest is the way to go!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was my first experience with a smart thermostat and I was really excited to get this installed and tried out. Prior to getting this thermostat, check to make sure your system is compatible. There are youtube videos you can watch that make it really clear. If you don’t do this, when you begin installation, the app will also have you check. The google app literally walks you through every setup step. We turned all the power off in the house, just to be safe and followed the steps on the app from there. Once set up, you can create schedules or any adjustments through the app (you can also change the temp right from the unit). We only have one thermostat for our whole house so we are constantly adjusting it - the room where the thermostat is in is often warmer than the rest of the house, so we play with the temps a lot to make it feel right in whatever room we are in. We typically turn the heat down at night and back up in the morning. We are home so often during the day due to covid, but on the days when the whole family is at school/work, I also like to turn the heat down. Often I forget! This makes it easy. I can either set it to change automatically, or I can just manually change the temp even once I get to my office, and have it turned back up for when the kids get home from school. The convenience is unmatched and the app is so user friendly and straightforward. As for looks, it is sleek, not huge, and matches nicely (ours is the Snow color). I’m looking forward to seeing an impact on our gas and electric bills.

Old style much better

The new Nest is not user-friendly. I am sadly disappointed. The dial is uber sensitive and the app is far too confusing. Google products in the past have always been so easy

Called "nest" but not Nest

The new "Nest Thermostat" doesn't work with the old Next app and so I can't see it next to my older Nest thermostats. I also can't control it from the web anymore so if I don't have my phone I am out of luck. This is a step backward.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works like advertised

A little difficult to install and set up, but after several tries, it's installed and working. Most useful thing is being able to control the downstairs Nest thermostat while upstairs. While I don't leave home much, some users might like the ability to turn on the AC/heat remotely a little before they arrive back home.

Simple and Beautiful

This is honestly the most beautiful and simple thermostat I have ever seen or used! Most of the time I don't like to look at or change any settings on thermostats because they're designed poorly and I am always confused at what is happening when I try to turn up or down the temperature. But with this, setup was so simple and easy to understand (and I'm not by any means knowledgeable about mechanics and wiring). It also has a very simple and beautiful screen on the device and so convenient that I can update anything with the Google Home app. Very well executed! The only minor thing that can be bothersome is that the touch bar on the side can be a bit sensitive and doesn't always correctly do what I need, but it's very sleek and I do like the concept and how it usually works.
