User friendly, efficient & so many great features!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've tried to convince my husband we needed the Google Nest Thermostat for years and we finally got one! Not only is it so much better than the standard one we had before, it has exceeded my expectations! The new design is so sleek and modern, it really elevates all home thermostats. It is almost like a statement piece of art on the wall, so elegant. I love the fact that if we are away, it knows to adjust the heat and when we come home, we can make sure our house is a comfortable temperature for us to come home too. The Google Nest also tells us what devices are on and in which room they are on in which is a great added feature I had no idea about. My husband had a little bit of difficulty installing the Nest because we have a more complicated heating system that needed a passcode to bypass the typical install, but once troubleshooting and explaining the issue with the Google help team, he was able to fix the problem. I'm so happy that we finally got the Google Nest Thermostat! If you are trying to become a more energy efficient household that also appreciates gadgets that are multifunctional, the Nest is the perfect purchase for you!

Amazing!!

These are so wonderful! Also better that we got them free through our energy company. So easy to be lazy and just kick the air on with my Google home and on my phone. Don't have to worry anymore up upcharges during peak hours if we forget because we can program our air to shut off during those hours!

Reconnecting to WiFi

More difficult than Nest

We have had a Nest E thermostat for years, find it easy to operate, and the app was simple. We added a new Google-Nest thermostats to a vacation home and have had difficulty with the two apps being friendly. On my phone, I have our Old thermostat on Nest app and the vacation home on Google home. However, on my husband’s phone, the old thermostat migrated to Google home but won’t let us control the older Nest thermostat- only view the temp. So frustrated with the whole thing!!!

- If you are the account owner where the Nest Thermostat E is connected, your account should be migrated to Google as well. Successful migration of the main account will let you and your husband control both your Nest Thermostat E and Nest Thermostat in Google Home App.

Great upgrade for me, but...

I'm happy I finally have a "smart" thermostat that I can control remotely from my phone. HOWEVER, I have one HUMONGOUS problem with the Nest. The SOFTWARE. Google feels that it knows my house better than I do, and INSISTS on only providing the option to set a "hold" temperature for up to 24 hours at a time. When it ends it CONSTANTLY wants to play "nanny" and turn my temp down in the winter to insanely low temps. WHY can't I just have an option to set the temperature at 71 and LEAVE IT THERE??? For as long as I want? Google, if you want 5 stars from me, issue an update that allows me to hold a single temp for an infinite amount of time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great concept

Love the concept, and the app the thermostat itself is not very easy to control. We had an original nest so we may be bias. Being able to set schedules and use the app is great.
