Almost perfect ….

I love the aesthetic modern look of the thermostat itself. It was easy to install. The Google Home app will guide you through setting up preferences and is super easy!! It has worked perfectly so far and I am happy. Just waiting for the technology which will allow me to add this to Apple Home.

We recommend checking the operating voltage for your HVAC system, since Nest Thermostat will rely on the power wires for your system to power itself. Super easy to self install, setup and configure from your own smartphone, check on it and control remotely, works naturally with the Google Home app. Since eco-smart it came with a good discount from my electric company.

I hate that I cannot go to the Nest thermostat change temperature easily. That's the basic functionality of any thermostat and I really don't understand why is it so difficult to physically change temperature at the thermostat with this one. Everything else is great, wifi connectivity, ease of installation, control through voice commands from nest mini. I wish I could turn on/off the thermostat using Alexa, but it's not supported yet.

While you can manually adjust your thermostat’s temperature in the app, you can also physically change the temperature directly on the thermostat by sliding your finger up or down when the thermostat is on showing the temperature screen. Nes Thermostat

Can't access through mobile app, says wifi is not connected. Wifi IS connected, Nest camera works just fine, connected to same wifi.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some difficulties with accessing your Nest Thermostat through the Google Home app. It may be helpful to make sure that this issue is not caused by a spotty connection or weak signal. We recommend checking your Wi-Fi network to see if your bandwidth is congested. If you have too many devices connected on the same bandwidth or if your network package is not enough to handle the data traffic on the network, removing other connected devices to your Wi-Fi may relieve network congestion.

May or may not be compatible

Using the compatibility checker, it said it wouldn’t be compatible with the wires I initially used for my previous thermostat. However after further investigation, I found that one of the wires that it might have been missing was actually available on the control panel located at my furnace. Luckily there was an extra conductor on the cable that was run to the thermostat, so landing it on the other side was relatively simple and the Nest began to work after having made this connection. Some may find that the app tells you it won’t be compatible, but double check your control board on the other end to see if landing a C wire on the low voltage terminal is possible for you. Some may need to run a separate cable to complete this. Now that we’ve connected it and it works, it does what it’s supposed to do thus five stars.
