So happy with my nest thermostat! Best purchase I could have done. So far it has been better than the one that comes with my apartment.

The thermostat didn't work on my house because I have two thermostats up and downstairs. It stops one thermostat when it is connected to the other. Besides, the thermostat screen menu is different from the online connection instructions. Online support is very limit.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not as good as the old Nest E series

It does the job, which is why I gave it some stars, but was hard to adjust to after using the E series for a few years. The new thermostats also don’t work with the Nest app and the Google Home app is terrible and not intuitive at all. Since I have the E series for one zone and this new version for a second zone, I have to manage details in two different apps. Very annoying and, as stated, more difficult to use than the E series/Nest app.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The new Nest Thermostat is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app. Our team is working on bringing full functionality to the Google Home app so all of your cameras can be set up and controlled in one place.

Connection headache

I don’t usually write reviews. I have tried and tried to install a nest thermostat but still not working. It keeps saying that it cannot connect to the internet. I have TVs that can stream videos. My appliances can connect. My phone works. Everything works but a nest thermostat. I even called google support. After over an hour on the phone they gave up too. These things must not work or if they do they are flaky. I guess I am stuck with. Two of these. Look elsewhere if you can.

Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings. Also, if the system is not giving enough power to the thermostat to charge.

Not as simple as advertised

Access to trouble shooting incredibly difficult to maneuver. Misrepresented as simple set up. I have had the Nest for almost 3 weeks and it has only worked about 15 continuous hours.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
