Sleek modern design, so easy to use and install

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had great experience with other Nest thermostats before, so I was really excited to order this updated version. This new generation was a breeze to install, and this new design looks slim, sleek and modern with its mirror finish. The app is incredibly intuitive - you can just open it and understand exactly how to use it. And I know this is isn't a new feature to Nest, but I have to add that just love having the ability to turn on/off my air conditioning or heater from anywhere. It makes me so happy when I get home from being out of town and the house is toasty and warm because I remembered to turn the heat back on a few hours prior. I appreciate that it's just one of those smart home features that truly makes life easier. Highly recommend!

Nest C wire power adapter

Why the nest does not come with the C wire power adapter ? Why does it not ask what the insulation is in a home? It want to setback the temperature regardless of how insulated the home is. I want my money back or sent me the C wire adapter.

Your Nest Thermostat is designed to use very little power and it can use your system’s heating and cooling wires to get enough consistent power. But there are times where it doesn't provide enough power and you would need a C wire. We'd recommend that you contact our support specialists first to check if you have a C wire available in your HVAC system and assist you in making this work for you. Not as nice as the old ones

From the picture, I thought I was buying the same Nest E that I had purchased for the same price about 4 months ago. Nope, this one has a truly bizarre flat mirrored surface that looks completely different than the picture. The simplified controls are more cumbersome. Setup was okay, but I spent an extra twenty minutes diagnosing an incorrectly configured wire that I think it could have handled better. I was also not sufficiently warned that I would have to migrate my existing nest devices to my Google home account. My Nest app will still work with my old Nest devices, but I can only control this one with Google home. It just doesn't feel like a good integration. The whole thing feels like a dollar store version of a nest thermostat.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Google messed things up

You can’t combine older nests with newer ones . It took me weeks to figure out a work around to be able to use my new thermostat.
