Cool but not great

It was sleek and cool and modern. Kept turning on and off, became troublesome. Settings were set at 76, thing kept shutting off and on. Alexa is useful but still also not great. In a year or so this thing might be better once the kinks are worked out but in a year this ill be obsolete.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Google Home App < Google Nest App

We recently installed the new Nest thermostat at our new 2nd home. We have the first gen Nest learning thermostat at our main home. The new Nest doesn't work with the Nest app -- you need the Google Home app.... which isn't as good. The new Nest is less expensive... but the app is a big downgrade.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The new Nest Thermostat is exclusive to the Home app because we wanted to create an integrated experience. Our long term plan is to use the Google Home app as the one place you can control all of your favorite Nest and other smart home devices, as well as Google Assistant. In the near future, we’ll allow users to set up previous Nest devices and have full control in the Home app.

Works great

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This has been great to use. Installing was a little harder than expected but I'm also not very handy. I like how easy it is to use and the display is pretty nice as well. Being able to control the temp through my phone is such a great feature.

Easy Access Thermostat

Easy access to turn on/off or adjust heat/cool settings remotely from my cell phone, I can be anywhere in my home or on the road going to or from our home. In addition it can be programmed to adjust temperatures appropriate for the season ... set and forget or adjust as needed. The best part was that we received at no cost through a program from our local electric company, so check emails from your elect company (only available at no charge for 1-day).

Setting up on Google home was more annoying than using the nest app... And now there's no obvious way to switch back to the Nest App.Thermostat seems to work.This version doesn't have a physical dial, so it's not as easy to use.If you have an old one, don't bother upgrading.

Home Thermostat

The product works as set up in google home app however I found the app not really intuitive. Really have to hunt for things that should be easy to find and make changes. Do I recommend this product? The thermostat seams to work but the app could use some improvement.
