Nest Thermostat (2 Months in)

I've owned previous generations Nest Thermostats and loved every one of them, back when the entire face rotated. The new one if incredibly frustrating to control by touching the side wall. It only works about half the time.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Works great

The thermostat is working great, but still need more improvement like custom the display, show the time the weather in my area and display the humidity.Need to have one touch turn on and off.

Near Perfect

In the installation instructions it says, "The Nest thermostat is designed to work in most homes without a common C wire". It only did for a few days. The worst two days of July 2021. 109 and 110!! In my house it got to 105 both days with two fans running 24 hours a day. So I had to have a guy install new wire to support the Nest and now it runs nearly perfect. For whatever reason, the side touch doesn't always work. Works great from my app on the iphone though. So I am happy now!

I am a long time Nest user for many years (cameras, smoke sensors, thermostats, ...). I purchased the new Nest thermostat after seeing it's great looking aesthetic (it does look very nice). It was very easy to install in place of my older Nest thermostat. That said, I am very unhappy that I can't access it through the Nest App and more importantly through the Nest web UI on my laptop (that is my main interaction point for it, and I don't like starting the Google home app just to access it). There should have been a clear warning about that during the purchase process, I totally feel duped. Sorry for venting, but a bit frustrated.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The thermostat works like a charm, honestly the only real issue is that the touch pad on the right side for control is slightly finicky at first when you're trying to figure out how to properly work it. Besides that, it's an easy installation and easy to control.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Too complicated

There is no option to turn off the learning/scheduling function. Also, you can only use Google Home app, will not work with Nest app (new for 2020 models).Spend the extra money for the next step up, especially if you're used to having one already.

The new Nest Thermostat doesn’t use learning/Auto-Schedule but you can set a temperature schedule during setup and change it anytime you want.
