Works well but the side touch interface is poor.

As long as you control the thermostat with Google Assistant or Nest Hubs it works well. The control interface on the thermostat itself is poor and unintuitive. I recommend that Google make a touch interface on the display itself for the next version.

Shame!

This is shame the Nest thermostat is not supported by Nest app. Google Home app doesn’t support other Nest thermostats sensors. So it is big mess.

First time purchased, it is referred by friend said it can be monitored by phone and it can connect to camera to monitor home security. It look nice, but it is too complicated and hard for me to manipulate the device.

Furnace short cycles with this thermostat.

Installed because my nest learning thermostat stopped working prematurely. Now this one short cycles furnace on and off. Replaced with a standard thermostat. Works normal.

Nest thermostats power issues, like short-cycling, may occur when your system wires can't deliver enough power to keep the thermostats charged up. It’s important to check first if your system is compatible with our compatibility checker: https://store.google.com/us/widget/compatibility/thermostat
And though Nest thermostats would generally work without a common (C) wire, there are some systems that would require a C wire on the new Nest Thermostat like a heat only or cool only systems. I'm so happy with my new Nest Thermostat! I was even able to install it myself... which is quite an accomplishment for me. lol It works great AND looks great! I highly recommend this .
