A step down from past generation

I liked the Nest software, it was so much more flexible than the Google software. With Nest you had a visual schedule hour by hour that was awesome. Google took that away and now it is not intuitive. The rotating control on the old one was also much better. This is clearly a cost cutting product, it is a step down in every way.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hard to adjust at thermostat itself. The Google app is definitely needed.

Hi Chuck N., thanks for posting your feedback about the Nest Thermostat and we're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some difficulties in adjusting the Nest Thermostat on the device itself. The Nest Thermostat now uses touch control in order to adjust the temperature or navigate through the settings from the Thermostat itself. Instead of a touch screen, it uses a touch bar on the right side to control your thermostat. You swipe up to raise the temperature, swipe down to lower it, and tap to confirm.

Great, Convenient Value

Love my Nest Thermostat! Super easy to set schedules, it blends in well with the decor, and the tie-in with Google Assistant is fantastic as well!

The plastic exterior looks cheap and the swipe interface to change settings looks shabby, I would have preferred a touch screen.

Better than the last Nest version!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a big fan of the Nest(I’ve had every version that ever came out), this version is by far the best, and has the least amount of bugs with it. I put it in my rental unit, so I don’t have to worry about checking in on it too often. I know that my A/C system I just installed is working properly, and that the Nest gets the job done.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The google nest thermostat was easy to install and set up was straight forward, I had looked online to make sure my system was compatible before using and had no issues. Sleek clean finished look. Loves the features for doing adjustments. Easy to operate.
