Google won't stop asking me for feedback about this device. I don't own it. I just installed it for a friend. Hopefully they will stop asking me about it now.

Did not work

Got two nest thermostats. The first one needed a C wire to work with my system so I got the Learning thermostat which did not need the c wire but made my furnace system "click." The heating pro said that it was either not compatible or defective. Returned for refund.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Look Great and Works Great Thermostat

I will admit I was a little nervous when installing the thermostat because I had no experience with installing on before. However, it ended up being fairly easy once I got the settings worked out. Ever since then it's been working great.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nest Thermostat

Bought a Nest Thermostat (snow) from the Google store to replace the existing Honeywell RTH 6300 to control our Lennox G20 Whisper Heat Forced Air Furnace. The Honeywell RTH 6300 isn't a Wi-Fi thermostat and only requires 4 wires (Green, Yellow, White, Red) as its batteries can provide the little power the thermostat needs. When I first set up the Nest Thermostat the documentation says I don't need the C (Common) wire. It works on the first day but on the second day the power was depleted and the thermostat couldn't connect to Wi-Fi and control the furnace. Measurement of the batteries confirmed they are depleted. So I need to provide the Nest thermostat with constant power through a fifth wire, the C wire. After a C wire was connected (from the T terminal of the Lennox G20) the Nest Thermostat receives constant power and the Home app shows the battery level constant and good. The Nest thermostat has worked fine since then and I'm very pleased with the info and simple control.

This thermostat works great so far. Only issue is with the sensors. If your furnace is not zoned, meaning each heater etc controlled independently. Then the sensors are not useful, as they keep the furnace running constantly, making the main room extremely hot. Thank you.
