Disconnect from Wifi

If I can get it to stay connected to wifi, it would be better. Get the real NEST thermostat and be happy.

Connectivity issues for Nest Thermostat may be caused by several reasons such as Wi-Fi network congestion, distance of the device from the router, wireless interference with other Wi-Fi hotspots or devices nearby and other Wi-FI settings. Also, if the system is not giving enough power to the thermostat to charge.

Affordable Smart Home AC/Heat Control

From the top, the device is very aesthetically pleasing. It looks like a small mirror when not in use, and the trim kit makes it almost modern art. The controls on the device are simple, easy to use and there's only one 'button' on the side which works with gestures. Navigation can be done by anyone. No professional installation needed for me, some may require it but mine went up in less than twenty minutes. Google Home App walked me through set up and schedules for my Nest so it automatically changes to the appropriate temperature at my set times. Once installed and set up, I haven't even used the app, only voice commands to my Google Home and Echo Dot. Since it works with both services,it's easy for everyone to set the temperature according to their preference. It actually has been saving money on my electric bill and cooling my house more effectively.

Easy install. Great functionality.

We installed this thermostat to replace our builder grade Honeywell thermostats, which were not compatible with smartphones. The installation was a no brainer. Instructions were very clear, and it only took me 30 minutes to install three thermostats. The Google Home app was easy to update with the new thermostats, and I can now schedule temperature changes according to peak and off peak energy use times, as well as have the thermostats set to turn temperature down or up through smartphone location (leaving/returning). It also has motion detection that will adjust temperature according to people's presence. I like the display coming on when walking in front of it. You never have to physical touch the screen to see what the setting and room temperature are. I highly recommend this product

The Wi-Fi disconnection issues may be related to power issues. Your Nest thermostat is designed to get power from your heating and cooling system wires. If the system wires can't deliver enough power, the thermostat battery will start draining, and this results in your thermostat limiting its features such as Wi-Fi connection to preserve battery. The resolution may be to install a common (C) wire in your system to deliver constant power to the thermostat. The power resolution will also help fix the connectivity issue. We recommend contacting a Nest Pro technician to check your system first and install a common (C) wire if needed.

Think before you buy

Only after you open the box and trying to assemble you would learn if it can work in your house. Mainly around the power issue

Good, but lacking a few niceties

For me it was hard to install, as I had no C wire. Most people won't have this issue. There are two changes I wish it had:1) it is small, so had little chance of covering the hole. So you may need to buy a faceplate, which are outrageously expensive relative to generic faceplates. Google could sell these as an addon at a reasonable price.2) I wish you could change the display, even just a little. The "set" temperature is huge, and the "measured" temperature is small, IMHO backwards. BUT what I would really like is a clock/measured temp combo. It does work well with Google Home commands. A tad slow, but acceptable.

Pretty good so far

I have the nest for about a month now. It’s working fine so far. Very easy to install and the instructions are not complicated to follow. Not sure whether it lowers my electric Bill yet.. I’ll keep ya posted

Nest thermostat

Great thermostat, full of useful features on a great price. Extremely easy to install, as long as you read the instruction carefully to make sure your system is compatible.The furnace wires connection to the thermostat mount is very sensitive, make sure to strip the wire and burnish the copper before inset it to the connector in the mount, if not you may get an error.
