Love it, so many useful features

I already had an old programmable thermostat, but I really wanted one of these so I could control it with the Google Home app. Being able to control the thermostat via the app, anywhere you are, or by voice somewhere else in the house is so useful.
I would recommend this to a friend!

i am tech savvy, very tech savvy, yet I am stumped ... did everything by the book four times, read numerous blog entries, yet nothing works!!! I reinstall the old thermostat and it works fine every time, just not the Nest, and diagnostic info is weak, to say the least!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Great and simple

I mainly got this one because of the price. I had been looking at the more expensive one (and even the ecobee) but the price plus functions won me over. I didn't need something that had so so much to offer - just the basics. Installation was a breeze as was setup. At first we simply used it as a normal thermostat, setting it to whatever at random times, then we moved on to scheduling. Scheduling was easy and convenient and made things so much easier.

from mercury to smart

Nest thermostat let me upgrade from a traditional old mercury thermostat to one with with a brain. Install took a couple of moments but thats because I have a very old system. Once it was plugged in (no c wire for mine) it lit the boiler and worked great! All in all a great product.

Doesn't work well

Keeps unlinking from my phone so it's just a thermostat kind of a waste of money since it doesn't do its main function

Connectivity issues can be caused by different factors like location and distance of Nest device, Wi-Fi router, outdated phone and Google Home app. This may also be caused by Wi-Fi network congestion, and Wi-Fi interference with other devices and/or networks. Removing other devices from your Wi-Fi might help.You can also try setting up your Nest Thermostat on either the 2.4GHz or 5GHz bands and see which band is more reliable.
If unresolved, we suggest contacting our support team, so we can take a closer look and isolate the cause of the issue. You can reach us using this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
