Can't add it on the nest app

You can't add this on the Nest app on your home. You should use it via google home app. Interface is not functional and it have lots of errors. And this cannot connect with the Nest temperature sensor. If I paid full price, I will return it. Disappointed
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

My 3rd nest thermostat...

I really like the clean modern look of this version. I just built a new home with three AC units so having control from mobile with quality smart thermostat was a must. I've been with NEST since their very first thermostat and I've stuck with them through 3 different models. I actually didn't realize this one was a little lower tech. No ring that spins all the way around to make settings, just s small touch strip on the right side. It was a bit of pain to set this up in the app due to disconnects and restarts but once it's done they work and look really good.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Not so smart

It took forever to figure out that this needed a c wire. And then only AFTER I installed the c wire, the device setup screen says I need a c wire! And now, even with the c wire, it sucked another set of new batteries dry!
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Not on the Nest App?

I bought this because I wanted to be able to see all of my Nest products on the Nest app. This NEST thermostat will not work with the NEST app. When I try to add it to the app it redirects me to the google home app. Pretty lame.

Super Thermostat?

The Nest Thermostat is more than capable of doing everything and more. It can be complex yet functional and it is definitely feature rich. Some issues are likely to arise in the operational instructions which could do a better job with its user friendliness. The learning curve thus far has felt steep as about the time you think you understand how, you do not, and it has just exposed an additional function or a finer detail. Nevertheless, with a bit of determination we believe we will overcome any shortcomings and learn to appreciate all of its built in refinements.
I would recommend this to a friend!
