Thermostat never turn off

I bought the device thinking it would help save on the energy bill but after a month I notice that my bill doubled and the thermostat never turns off.

There are number of reasons why your heating or cooling system might be doing something unexpected. Checking your Nest Energy History is the best way to confirm what caused the change on your Nest Thermostat's temperature.

new nest thermostat

i have had a very hard time reconnecting to the internet. it does not change temperature manually well... when i try to change the temp, it does not work over half the time, and the other half, it changes in the wrong direction. will not buy another and plan to take this back for something else...

We'd love to help. You can try these troubleshooting steps that may help with your concern: - On the Nest Thermostat display. Go to Settings and select Factory Reset. Keep in mind that when you perform a factory reset, all info or data on your Nest Thermostat will be deleted and you'll have to re-setup. - Begin thermostat setup with the Google Home app again. On the main screen, tap (+) > and then Set up a Nest product. The Home app will walk you through the process or you can check this link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/10125150

Good but not great.

The device is pretty easy to install/setup but there are some things keeping it from 5 stars. For one the humidity reading is very inaccurate and always displays at least 10% higher than the actual. Often it seems to just get stuck at over 70%. I have two Nest Thermostat's and both have this flaw and there are countless reviews online with the same complaint. It has nothing to do with humidity inside the wall cavity or any nonsense Google wants you to believe. It just doesn't work correctly. For me it's not a deal breaker because it doesn't seem to negatively affect the function of the device.The thermostat itself is also missing some basic functionality. There is no way to set or resume a temperature preset (schedule) from the thermostat. You have to use the Google Home app or voice assistant to set a preset. It would be nice if you could do this from the thermostat itself so it doesn't require finding your phone or using voice assistant.

We understand how important it is to have the correct humidity readings, we recommend performing the steps below to see if the humidity readings will improve: - Remove the thermostat display from its base for about 5 seconds. - Reattach the display. - Wait for 10 seconds. - If the relative humidity readouts return to normal, you may need to monitor in 24 hours for any changes.

Incompatible with Nest App

Despite what it says on the outer packaging, Google Nest Thermostat does not work with Google Nest App. It wants you to use a different Google Home app, but some of the Nest products are not compatible with that app. So now you need 2 apps - Nest for some nest products Google Home for other nest products. Nest Thermostat came bundled with Nest Temperature Sensors, with which it is also incompatible. Which also have dubious small print on packaging, seems it gets retailers confused.Google has taken a perfectly simple product line and mucked it up.Google needs some software help ...

The Google Nest Thermostat is the first thermostat in Nest’s lineup to be entirely set up on the Google Home app. Also, the Nest Temperature Sensor is only compatible with Nest Learning Thermostat (3rd gen) and Nest Thermostat E for North America. Easy to install, intuitive to control

Great smart thermostat and a huge upgrade from the dumb one that came default on the wall. I love that it knows when I'm not home so I don't waste money heating/cooling an empty place.
