Ok, but install was too hard

I have a heat-only millivolt system, quite old. The Google primer said it wouldn't work with my furnace. It does. Had to go on Youtube to find d that anyway with someone who had the same type of heating system to get the wiring correct. Did need a 12 volt transformer, but had it anyway from my old Honeywell that stopped talking to its app. Works fine now, Would prefer more display options though.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Helps us save money

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This Thermostat helps us save money. Its so easy to install, I feel anyone could do it. It gives suggestions on when I should adjust the heat during sleeping hours. Im able to turn the heater on even before I get home from work. It looks good in the house and gives me that updated feel even in an older home. Its brilliant!
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a awesome Central hub to control all your smart home accessories. Add to it the everyday smarts of Google Assistant makes it that much better. Everyone at home was sceptical when I got it, but now after using it for a couple of weeks, it's become everyone's go to source for answers. Great product Google. **One thing I wish was different, a slightly bigger screen. Using in the kitchen, a 10" screen would really put it over the top for me.

This thermostat looks great. The ability to easily operate it is lacking and the touch slider is not very sensitive and hard to get just right.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to install. Not intuitive for settings. Still haven’t figured out how to put on permanent hold.

Hi Captain Bob, We appreciate the feedback and we're sorry to hear that you're experiencing some difficulties with holding the thermostat in a permanent temperature. Here are some steps that you can follow to start the temperature hold from the device itself:

1. In the Menu view, select Hold Hold temperature.
2. Select Current temp or Eco.
3. Choose a time. You can scroll up and down to edit the time by half-hour blocks.
Note: If you’re using the Eco preset, you can also choose None to hold the temperature indefinitely until you end the hold. For other presets, your thermostat can hold the temperature for up to 24 hours.
4. Select Confirm.
