Big improvement

Replaced an old manual thermostat with the Nest. Big improvement. Makes it so nice to turn on the system on the way home .Only con to it is trying to adjust temperature on the thermostat. So much easier to use the app. I liked it so much I have ordered 2 more.I have no need for the learning model as our schedule is all over the place. If you register it with your power company they offer incentives.

Simple, missing 2-stage heater control

Nice product design makes it really easy to configure and use. One missing feature is control of 2-stage heaters, so it turns on full blast.

Google home bad news

I have Nest Thermostats and Nest/Yale front door locks for several homes for a long time. When I could use the Nest App I rarely had problems. Now I'm forced to use Google home which is terrible. If anyone knows how I can use all my Nest devices on Nest App again I'd appreciate it.Also my newest Nest Thermostat goes offline all the time and never reconnects. I have to drive 45 minutes to the condo to reset it.
I would recommend this to a friend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the third Nest thermostat I've owned. Each one has been different, but the first two both used the click wheel to interact with the Nest. This Nest is different -- very different. There's no click wheel. It's all based on a touch sensor on the right side of the Nest. It definitely takes some getting used to and a week after installing and using, I'm still learning and getting the hang of it.
The Nest looks really cool! The face of the Nest looks like a mirror but the display shows up on it like a computer screen. Really cool!
It does a great job of keeping the house warm (and cool when needed), and I love being able to control it from my phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Wish you could set your own time , instead of the thermostat giving you choices. That is my biggest peeve.

Here’s how you can set a schedule on your Nest Thermostat based on your preferred time:
Create your customer temperature presets:
- Go to thermostat settings > Temperature preference> Temperature presets > Create custom temperature.
After creating your preferred temperature, you can now create your schedule.
Create a new schedule:
- Settings > Schedules > Add > Select your custom temperature preset > select time > Add to event > done.

Easy to install if you have the right wiring. You need 4 or 5 wires to control heat and a/c.

Works great. Because I’m not electricity savvy, I hired a handyman to install it. I am still learning how to access all the features. It’s totally different from my old thermostat. It lights up when I approach and goes dark when I’ve passed by. I’ve had fun connecting it to my phone so it knows when I’m home or away. It will heat/cool my house before I arrive if I want! I also connected it to another company and they can turn it off during a FlexAlert. It’s only been 2 weeks but I’m totally happy with it.
