Don’t waste your money

I love the idea, but the unit disconnects from wifi EVERY DAY — the app says you can’t control the temp, but the unit says it’s connected. The most frustrating “smart” purchase I’ve made. I’d return it if it weren’t past the deadline.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thermostat works great with Alexa but have been unable to view it or change it from my cell phone when I am not home

Almost perfect

Easy to set up! Easy to use! Why is this model, the only one that works with my system, not compatible with the remote sensor? No reason why all Nest models should be remote sensor compatible!

Better than Learning Thermostat

I like the new simple thermostat better than Learning Thermostat. Too much features in the learning thermostat, many of them were not used. Price is twice lower.

G2 Thermostat Is A Great Gadget

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This G2 thermostat is well worth it. True to it's name it is smart. Easy to install, easy to use. Being able to control temps whether we are home or not it a great money saver. Easy to set up a routine or schedule for temp control. True to it's name it is smart.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I specifically purchased this thermostat because I wanted to be able to install in myself, saving money on having someone come out and do the install. It was really helpful to have a way to check and see if it would even work by going to g.co/nest/works and seeing if my system was compatible. This particular model does require 2 AAA batteries which from what I can tell serve as a backup for power should you not have a C wire to power the device. It does rely a lot more heavily on the batteries if you do not have a C wire and I could see that being a problem for some people. I highly recommend watching the video to make sure that your system is compatible before going through all of the work of installing just to find that it won't work. It did not take me long (about 40 minutes) to get it installed, using the Google app along the way. I love how I can use the app to modify the temperature so I don't even have to get up off the couch. Time will tell if it saves us money over the old thermostat but I love the integrative features. We did find that it does not connect with Google's temperature sensors for some reason. I'm not technically savvy enough to explain that one but just a consideration.

Not user friendly replaced a Honeywell for this model cannot set up geo fence
