Works fine. Setup was bit of a challenge.

I installed this myself after getting a new furnace installed a few weeks ago. Wiring it was not a problem after the furnace installer confirmed which wire is the 'C' wire. In my case, it was black, but check with a licensed installer. I found that the app set up process didn't work properly, and the instructions in both the box, and in the app did not really match my experience. So I had to go through the setup process several times. When I set it up the first time, the thermostat gave me an error code, and the furnace actually stopped working! The issues only resolved after I did a factory reset of the thermostat device - but that fixed the issues. After the factory reset of the thermostat, I once again went through the app setup process, and it went relatively smoothly. It and the furnace has been working fine since then. No data on any potential savings gained yet.

Awesome thermostat

I have read a lot of folks complaining about this thermostat being not as good as the Learning model and although that is true it is still awesome. I have had it for a couple of months and am delighted with its operation. It gives far more information on heat cycles than a normal thermostat (I can't compare to other WIFI models). It doesn't support remote temp sensors but aside from that it does everything I want and it does it well.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Only meant for use with certain wire types, not regular "stranded wires". This should be in big print on the box. Caused quite a hassle.

Difficult to install and use!!!!!

This device is not recommended by me. Took forever to install would not link up to my phone HVAC guy couldn’t get it to work either
Will Not turn on furnace fan or air con at all!!! Older model better replacing this one with regular thermostat as soon as I can actually get one.

Nest 2020 self installation

I was very confident about installing the Nest 2020 thermostat myself but immediately ran into problems. The “works” assessment told me it was compatible with my system. During the installation it said “not compatible with myHVAC
I called Google HELP and they were eager to walk me through to the point where they seemed to just “give up” and told me to call a Nest Pro, of course their services are on my nickel.
I ran a temporary “C” wire, reprogrammed the thermostat and it works, but with an error code

It’s not an easy install for the average Joe
