Phone control nice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Using this Nest thermostat for our upstairs furnace/AC unit since we are empty nesters and don’t go upstairs often. This Nest version is not compatible with our downstairs unit. Set up was not too bad although we will need to paint since it has a much smaller footprint than the old thermostat. My husband is an engineer and had only minimal complaints about installation. I have an android phone and the Google Home app was easy enough to download, not intuitive to use, hope that gets better. Will be nice to change settings on my phone. The function I knew we would like is having it come on when motion is detected. We really only need it to come on when we have visitors or grandkids come over. I have the “snow” color which basically is a white rim around a mirror.
I would recommend this to a friend!

buggy in scheduling

I've set comfrot temperature at 8:45AM but it never turns on automatically. I have to walk up to the thermostat for it to turn on the comfort temperature. very frustrating
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1. Tap the Launch Schedule icon
2. From the Schedules View, there is the option to edit schedules.
3. Tap an existing schedule to enter Edit mode. In this mode, you can edit cooling and heating preferences including the time.
If you've done this and the issue still persists, we recommend that you contact us on our Google Help page so we can improve your experience with the thermostat. Please click on the link to visit us: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp

I like it , but one thing it shoulda had was a way to lock other out from being able to access it.

Excellent Thermostat!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is the best thermostat I have ever owned, hands down. Not only is it incredibly user friendly, it is also so sleek looking and aesthetically pleasing. It's not bulky and barely even noticeable. You can control everything from your phone so you really don't even need to physically use this. My favorite part about this is that it learns your schedules and will automatically start changing temperatures based on habits it picks up on. Absolutely incredible. Couldn't recommend more!

Worst Google experience to date...

One of my 2 Nest Thermostats was setup with little fuss (i.e. it only took 3 attempts). The 2nd one was a complete nightmare. It took several hours (literally) including a very lengthy live chat with support that ended with them hanging up on me as I was rebooting the device for the millionth time. I eventually managed to set it up by borrowing someone else's phone and installing Google Home with my account on it. Why I couldn't use my phone to setup a send device remains a complete mystery. As of this writing my second Nest Thermostat kind of works. It regularly disconnects from my home network and needs to be reset manually on a weekly basis. In short, this has been my worst Google experience to date hands down.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Amazing little thing

First off - This thing is perfectly elegant. The way the mirror finish looks with the display sells it alone. Paired with the google home system it works just how I would expect. I really love having a runtime chart to see the difference between my heat types. (wood vs Gas)I run a Wood Boiler and Propane. This works with my setup and allows me to monitor the effectiveness of each heating type. A and probably getting one for each garage heater.

Just what I wanted

This is the perfect thermostat. I love being able to set schedules for each day of the week and different times throughout the day. I love being able adjust the temperature while away from home. Also really cool to control with your voice via google home.
I would recommend this to a friend!
