Should have done sooner

I live in a 2 story with Thermostats on each floor. I live where the temperature in the house can need heat and A/C on the same day. This allows me to know when the second story is getting hot and I can easily flip to A/C without running up and down the steps to switch both thermostats
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

BEST low end offering for wifi thermostat

I have owned a Nest Gen 2 and ecobee 4. Both had learning capabilities and wifi connectivity. With the ecobee I also used room sensors since my thermostat is not in the room i'm in most often.I got this specific Nest model for a steal through my local electricity provider and I'm beyond happy with it. It has a smaller footprint than both previous models. I love that it's a reflective screen and I can set it to only turn on when touched. Also no touching the front, leaving finger prints.My favorite is it DOES NOT LEARN! I know what I want and when I want it, so I programmed my thermostat to do so and it doesn't get all wonky on me.One downside is I cannot use room sensors with it, but so far that hasn't been a deal breaker. I did not want the frame either, I just repaired my wall and now it looks even sharper.I highly recommend this thermostat for users who do not need learning or the room sensors. Crazy good price for what it does.

Good Thermostat

Installed easily. Must have a common wire source at the furnace/boiler/heat pump/control box. If your wall is not wired with a common wire there is a Google adapter available. The product uses the Google Home app rather than the Nest app. I find the Google Home settings easier to program than those on the Nest app but some people get wild about lack of compatibility with the Nest app so just be aware. My wife likes the mirror finish on the face. The manual setting adjustments are done via touch on the side of the device rather than the screen. This is a little finicky but works and does prevent fingerprints on the mirror finish screen.

Nest Thermostat

Wonderful easy to work and no need to drill also, its hold with existing wires. I used to get a cracking sound when it switches on or off with previous thermostat, with this those are avoided, easy to work with and gives out all the details and updates, what more you need. Thank you goggle for the nest !!

Underwhelming

I really wish google would just let us use the nest app. It is way more intuitive and feature rich. I have my other two Airbnb's running with nest app. It would be immensely easier if I could manage them in one application. Google home just isn't as easy to navigate or use.I would recommend going with the nest pro
