Old app is better

The thermostat technology is fantastic. I am not a fan of the Google Home app required to operate the device. The old Nest app was much more intuitive. I am generally a big fan, despite the app. I am using this device in a second home and it allows me to manage temps/energy spend from afar.
I would recommend this to a friend!

We LOVE our Nest

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This was our first G2 and it definitely did not disappoint. The new white option was perfect for our house and the new colors absolutely make the model look more modern. We will continue to be a huge nest family! Love their products.

Works great - Easy install

The Google Nest Thermostat is a great addition to our Google Home. It was very easy to install and easy to program. We love the features including the voice command (Using our Google mini) and control through the Google Home app on our phones and tablets. It was also priced lower than most wifi enabled smart thermostats.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Two story home

The net thermostat is nice for a one story home. If you have a two story home, get the one you can add sensor for more than one room…. My down stairs in the summer is about two degrees cooler than up stairs with the control nest thermostat… I also loose WiFi about once a week and have to restart my google nest thermostat.
I would recommend this to a friend!

So Easy Use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Google Nest Thermostat G2 is so user friendly and it has exceeded my expectations! My current thermostat was very dated and I experienced yearly issues with it. The Nest Thermostat is a huge upgrade and was very easy to install and is so easy to use. I highly recommend this Nest Thermostat to all homeowners!

Easy to install and use

I had purchased a thermostat before the nest. I was going to have to pull a C wire. I found the Nest and took the other thermostat back. The Nest needed no modification to my system. It was easy to install. The programming is fairly easy. I’m still learning and tweaking in order to get the most efficiency from my system. I love how it communicates with my google home devices. It also has a cool modern look.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Keep it simple

I decided to get the 2020 Nest Thermostat to save some money, I already had a 3rd Gen Nest on my other zone, but man, did I learn that you can’t go cheap. you shouldn’t need a C wire at all for the new thermostat if the older models don’t need it, I ended up returning the the 2020 model and bought another 3rd gen that was perfect.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Though Nest thermostats would generally work without a common(C) wire, some systems such as the ones that can’t deliver enough power, gas valves, and zone or relay panels require a common(C) wire to work with Nest thermostats. You would need to contact a local pro for C wire installation.
