Hi Jccaley1, thanks for sharing your feedback on Nest Thermostat, and we’re sorry to hear that you can’t get it to connect to Alexa.
Google is working with Amazon to migrate the Nest Skill on Amazon Alexa to ensure a smooth transition into Google Nest. Once you’ve migrated to a Google Account, use the Alexa app to enable this new Skill and re-link your connections. Either tap on the button in your Alexa app to discover devices, or ask Alexa to discover your Nest products by saying, ""Alexa, discover my devices."" Amazon has more detailed instructions on their website, if you need them. If you don’t find the Google Nest Skill in the Alexa app, the Skill is not available for your particular locale. Please note that you need to be a member of the Nest home to set up the Alexa-Nest connection.

Nest with Heat Pump

Had to go back to my more conventional Honeywell Wi-Fi Thermostat. Could not get the Nest to perform properly with my Heat Pump System, with regard to the frequency of heating cycles and on/off temperature interval.

Works Like A Charm.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this about 2 weeks ago and easily installed it myself. I would definitely suggest getting the trim kit if you are replacing an older thermostat, since they usually leave unsightly holes in the wall. After installing it, I must say how much better the wall looks. So stylish and sleek. This works so well especially if you have pets. You can control the heat and air while you are away from home with ease.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Smart Thermostat That's Simple
on December 10, 2021

The thermostat is perfect for our needs. It does exactly what we wanted and expected. Anyone who is interested in a Nest Thermostat should review the differences between the available models. If your HVAC system supports it, and you don't need or want the learning features this is a perfect fit. Very happy and it looks pretty cool on the wall too!

Hi Raysirx, thanks for reaching out. We’re sorry to hear that Nest Thermostat did not meet your expectations. We're always working to understand our customers' needs and expectations so that we can improve our products and offer more options.
In most cases, the new Nest thermostat can work with the thermostat wiring for most of the heating and cooling systems available. However, there are cases when your heating and cooling wires are not able to deliver the needed power to your Nest thermostat, then you may need to connect a common (C) wire. It helps deliver enough consistent power to your thermostat. You may contact a Nest Pro technician to help you with the Common wire installation.
We’ve also taken a note of your feedback and we’ll make sure this gets passed along to the right team since we're always looking for opportunities that will help us to keep improving our products and services.

Response from Google LLCBy Google Customer Care, July 18, 2021
Hi Chris W, thanks for sharing a review. We’re sorry to learn of your experience with the connectivity and power of your Nest Thermostat. We hear you.
If your Nest thermostat isn't receiving enough power from your system wires and a common(C) wire is not connected to the thermostat, it will slowly start draining the battery which may result in an unexpected shutdown or disconnecting itself from your Wi-Fi network to preserve power. It may also be related to Wi-Fi connectivity issues where the battery drains due to the network usage of the device.
You may try to completely disconnect your Nest thermostat from the Wi-Fi network and try to use it manually for at least 24 hours. If the issue is resolved while it is disconnected, the battery drain could be caused by your Wi-Fi network. If the issue continues to occur, then the system wires are probably not delivering enough power, and your Nest Learning Thermostat may need a common (C) wire to get adequate power to stay charged up.
You may contact us on Google Nest Support page for troubleshooting guidance about the issue. Here’s the link: https://support.google.com/googlenest/gethelp
