Great little device

Love that this a simplified version of the more expensive units. As we wanted a more inexpensive version of our small rental property.Does exactly what we need and want for the right price.

Not very user friendly

Every time I go to adjust the temperature it flips too many degrees And I have to go back and forth until I finally get it right

Your Nest Thermostat may have a pre-set schedule that is causes the temperature to change. You can add or remove the schedule here: To remove: - In the Google Home App. - Tap settings > schedule > tap the preset temperature > remove.

Poor integration of Nest

I purchased two Nest Outdoor Cameras and 1 Nest Learning Thermostat several years ago. I recently purchased 1 more Nest Learning Thermostat and 2 Nest Thermostats to add to the four heating zones around my home. The Original Nest Learning Thermostat and the new Nest Learning Thermostat appear on the original Nest application on my iPhone, however the two new Nest Thermostats only appear on the Google Home application. The integration and migration of the Nest and Google Home App is a mess. The Google Home App is only available on iPhones and iPads, not on my PC.... what a mess. My iPad indicates it is too old to run the Google Home App. The thermostats are difficult to control on the Google Home App and the Google Home App is not nearly so friendly to the Nest Cameras.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Keeps shutting off

We recommend using our online compatibility checker to ensure that your heating and cooling system is compatible with the Nest Thermostat. You may check it here: https://store.google.com/us/widget/compatibility/thermostat
Once you confirmed that your system is compatible, you may contact a Nest Pro technician or your preferred HVAC technician to check on your system, and install a Common (C) wire if needed as the short-cycling issue is most likely related to the insufficient power that the Nest Thermostat is getting from the wires from your heating and cooling system a common or C wire will help provide a stable power. Easy and reliable

I found this to be very easy to install, I had the 5 wire already ran new, If you do not have 5 wires take the Green wire on the board and put it on C then you need a jumper between W and Y on the board with 18 gage wire and the power off. Other way make sure you have the same color wires matching on the thermostat, yet if you have a 5 wire it will be R is Red, Y is yellow, W is White, G grn and use the Blue for C on the stat and the board

Only One Problem So Far

The only problem that I have found is that if you create a custom temperature preset, there is no way to delete the preset from the list of presets in the temperature preferences settings section. Therefore, it will show up in your choices when selecting preset temperatures all the time.

Huge Upgrade

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Nest Thermostat is great! It is a huge upgrade over my previous dumb thermostat. There is a little bit of a learning curve to figuring out all of the different features. For a few days, the thermostat would think the house was unoccupied because it sensed my phone was not in the house. My poor wife couldn't figure out why the heat wasn't on! Once I figured out the fix, it's been smooth sailing.
