Have this unit only two(2) weeks, but it is performing as expected. Have done some serious shredding with absolutely NO problems....ex: jamming & overheating...

I expected much better performance from a Fellowes product. I also have a much less expensive house brand shredder that doesn't have the problems this one does. There is no sensor to automatically shut off the shredder or prevent feeding when the catch hopper is full. I have accidentally overfilled it twice, then had to spend a lot of time clearing the resutant jam. I will read the features more closely in the future nd not purchase a shredder without this feature.
Pros: Quality Construction, Safety Features, Secure Cut Size
Cons: Mess Reduction, Jam Resistance
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Finally...I'm FREE!

Today, I shredded a pan-full of papers and felt great satisfaction.
The reason that I purchased another shredder in less than a year from the prior purchase...is because the other shredder forced me to spend time picking shreds of paper out of the gears AFTER EACH PASS!!
After I'd had enough...I stopped torturing myself, went online and read consumer reports for the best shredder on the market for the amount of money I could spend.
I am very pleased with the performance of my Fellowes P-48C. I have confidence--that if I oil the gears as instructed (and the fact that it's a Fellowes design)--that I won't have to spend anymore time picking paper shreds out of the gears.
I love the P-48C's straight-forward security of locking the automatic/reverse button, in addition to having an on/off switch in the back. I also love the feature where the gears continue to run a few seconds after each pass: GREAT IDEA!
THANK YOU FELLOWES. You've freed up valuable time in my life when I do my shredding task.

Happy Shredder

Looking forward to a long-term 'relationship' with my new Fellowes Shredder as 11 years of boxes of accumulated e-mail personal correspondence will await the recycling bin when 11 years of 'clutter' disappears. Just watching the piles of paper disappear so quickly and efficiently is lightening the burden of unwanted accumulated paper that can be recycled for future use.
At 84 years of age, I have experienced many different appliances....good and bad....but I think that this shredder is one of the best!

Great product

This is the third shredder that I have purchased in the past three years. I like this one specifically because of the blades which are more solid. The other shredders had thin blades which could not handle the amount of sheets (6) specified without jamming. This shredder has performed as stated in the product details. I have shredded several months of bills in a short time with no jamming.

my second Fellowes shredder

I wore out my first Fellowes shredder and liked that one so well, I just had to purchase a new one. The new Fellowes shredder is somewhat larger and more powerful. I know I will appreciate it even more.

I bought this shredder in order to cut my expired credit cards. I got what I wanted in this shredder.
