this shredder is powerful and consistant during use. the safety feature is an added plus as is the locking option. the design is really nice. it seems like it would blend in with any decor.

Though I read most of the reviews and sounded like one of the best machines for the price, it is a little noisy. Overall it's a pretty good product and I would recommend it.

Great for Home Use

I purchased this shredder for use in my home, primarily to shred bank and credit statements and other documents in order to help protect my identity from being stolen through someone going through my trash. This shredder works great. I find I am shredding more than I thought I would, but this shredder handles everything easily. It is a little loud right after the paper clears for maybe a couple of seconds, but the cost and quality more than offset that small issue.
Pros: Quality Construction, Shreds Credit Cards, Staples and CDs, Service Guarantee, Safety Features, Jam Resistance, Mess Reduction, low cost

Good Shredder for the $

I use this shredder in a small office to shred confidential papers and credit card slips. It is quick and shreds efficiently. I gave it a slightly lower rating on jam resistance because it wont always handle 8 sheets at once. I never need to do that many at one time but had to try it out!
All in all a good machine for the money.

Disappointment

I have had several Fellowes shredders and always had good results and liked the combination trash can and shredder.
This one is I am sure a good shredder but I do not like at all that it is not a combination unit but rather only a shredder.
The portion that appears to be a window or opening in the front should have been left open so unshreded items could have been placed in it instead of having to remove the unit to throw anything in it.
Pros: Quality Construction
Cons: Sheet Capacity, Mess Reduction, Secure Cut Size, should combine waste basket with the shreder
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

How to Enjoy your P-48 Cross-cut Shredder

You can take your time and organize all of your confidential information for shredding. Also relax in betwwen shredding or handle importanwhile your P-48 is cooling down The P-48 cooling down period is such so that there would be no jamming of documents and allow you to empty the self attached basket that collects the stredded paper or plastic cards.
