It has no power button and no volume button. That makes no sense to me.

Hi Rebecca, thanks for sharing. Please be advised that some devices come equipped with a Simple Remote. These lack TV controls (Power and Volume), so you must use your TV remote to control these functions. The current line of new Roku devices is limited to the Roku HD Express. In addition, in Roku model releases, the non-plus(+) models are generally equipped with a simple remote. However, if you wish to have functional access to your TV's power and volume buttons using the Roku remote, we recommend the Roku Voice remote. Roku was suggested by our daughter while she was here on Xmas break. It is working well. Service so far is good. I would recommend to others. Some of the overseas apps does not work but I understand the limitations.
