My ROKU

I recently purchased my ROKU and really enjoy it. I reduced my Dish package bill by more than half. Wish I had known about ROKU much earlier 👍

GOOD FEATURES!!!

We purchased this ROKU about a month ago because we could not get Cable TV in our area. So far it is working PERFECTLY! The only thing that is difficult for us is not having a written channel guide instead of scrolling through all of the channels to see what is coming on TV. Maybe ROKU will consider doing this.

Mind-boggling--with one caveat

The variety of programming available is overwhelming, but search tools help you narrow down your interests. I am a lifelong cheapskate, so I watch only F/REE stuff, but there's just a terrific volume to choose from. I'm exploring educational channels now, such as universities, and have already added several. Once you hook it up and start exploring, you'll be amazed at what's available, and I'm not exaggerating a bit.
Here's the caveat. After about a month of use, my Roku Express started producing garbled sound. I watched some instructional videos on the Net (you know where), then went to the Roku Community and searched "garbled." I found a long thread, with possible fixes. I tried one, and it worked! BUT, the thread went back to 2019, so this problem has been around a long time. I don't know what causes it, but it should have been fixed by mid 2024.
But other than that, Roku is the best entertainment value I've ever seen. You will not be sorry if you purchase one.
