Always freezes up

I purchased this several months ago to replace an older Roku that was working perfectly fine but decided to get a new one because the old one would soon be obsolete. It was a complete waste of money. It freezes up constantly and shuts down for no reason then reboots. The old one I’m still using on a different TV still works great. Don’t waste your money.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hi Deb, thanks for reaching out, we believe we can assist! Usually, this kind of behavior is due to the Roku player not receiving sufficient power. It's possible that there may be an issue with either the cable or the adapter. You can try using an alternate cable or power adapter to power the device. If you're currently using the TV as your power source, try plugging the device into a wall outlet instead.

Do better Roku

Just bought new Roku Express. Package doesn't include power plug- no mention on box that its not included. So, after hunting around for one, I got started. Now, 15 minutes in and its downloading 101 channels...I had no option in setup to opt out of all these channels, now i have to clear them out once its done and when will that be?! This isn't the cheapest streaming device, why not include the plug... Also the HDMI cable is less than 20" so, that's limiting on placment. Power cable is short too. I just hope I can get a few years out of this device and Roku allows for updates so I'm not forced to buy a new model.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

The Roku is an excellent value and provides plenty of free entertainment. Easy to use. Paired with an antenna it can save you hundreds if not thousands on cable and satellite subscriptions. I bought a second one for our cabin as well.

Great streaming device

I had been using a Roku Premium for several years, when it started giving me messages that it was overheating.
I upgraded to the Roku Ultra, and had immediate problems with an HDCP error message that Roku could not tell me how to fix. I ended up returning the Ultra for a refund, but still do not know if I have received the refund.
I purchased the Roku Express, and have had no problems at all with the new device.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Same product, upgraded tech!

My old Roku started over heating and kept rebooting itself. Chose to upgrade when the preorder email came out and this one actually runs a bit faster and no more over heating!
Same platform and was easy to to just login to my Roku account and it auto uploaded my apps! Didn't have to start all over! Simple and easy to use! Something I require since I'm not app savvy and prefer to avoid tech!
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love the Roku Express. Love the New movies and adore the old that I grew up with..Love the varities of your choice. Best investment I ever made..You definitly won't be dissappointed..Love it so much I bought another one for every room..
