I have an older TV and refuse to subscribe to the high priced cable tv option. I wanted additional options over just antenna tv. Roku provides that.

Cut the cable cord and tried Roku based on my daughter’s recommendation. She said it was easy to set up and much more economical. I like that the Roku channel has some good stuff on it and that it’s easy to add the apps I like such as Netflix and Paramount plus. I do wish it offered free live local channels and not just local news. TV was free when I was a kid and while I understand paying for specialty streaming channels I can’t for the life of me understand why the 5 local stations have to be paid for
