Great little unit

This unit has been a life saver for me in the brutal heat way down in South Louisiana. My unit that normally cools house could not in the extreme heat. Therefore was hardly getting any sleep since the house never got out of 80's. Bought this unit for my bedroom and it has been a life saver. I can now sleep. I leave the unit on high cool and dial to 10. I keep my room dark.

This air conditioner kicks out cold air and it blows out enough to were the hall and other rooms near are cool

GE 5000 BTU Manual Thermostat, & ON/OFF challenge.

the ON and OFF switch should be a "one click" in an "up and down position" like LG 5000 product. GE 5000 has to have 2 turns to go to cool. This is a nuisance. A clicker is more wise to install than a manual turn knob having to turn 180 degrees and then another 180 degrees back again to turn it offf!!! LG has perfected this ON and OFF clicker procedure. Why not GE??? Very disappointed.

Great for a small room

I have a small bedroom (9x11) and needed a window unit to cool my room during the summer months. I've had it for about a month. Can definitely make a small room freezing cold. Not a whole lot of power though. If I go outside into the hallway you can't feel the air at all even if the door is closed. Perfect for a small space, but won't do much beyond that.
